Mark Twain both used and promoted Conklin pens in the early 1900s and was featured in a famous advertising campaign proclaiming his preference for Conklin Pens. The Mark Twain Crescent Filler features the famous Conklin Crescent filling system, which was invented by Roy Conklin in 1901 as the first self-filling fountain pen. The design is simple and easy to use--simply press the metal crescen on the barrel to engage the attached pressure bar to deflacte the ink sac. Dip the nib into your favorite ink, release the crescent, and the pen fills with ink! A locking ring prevents accidental depression of the crescent. The pen features a heavy chromium clip and center ring engraved with the Conklin trademark name on the front and Mark Twain's signature on the back. Write with the flexible two tone stainless steel nib with special crescent-shaped breathing hole, or ballpoint. Choose from three bright, marbled colors.
