Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Back to school - best pencil sharpener!
Great little pencil sharpener for back-to-school. This will be perfect for my fourth grader's school box. For some, the price may seem a bit much for elementary school, but I think it balances out when I consider all the cheap sharpeners I buy every month or two to replace broken ones. This is much better quality.

It sharpens a dull or a broken pencil lead quickly in just a couple of turns. Works well for his colored pencils, too. The point of the pencil is kept short and precise ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Just OK
I've bought 2 of these sharpeners based on the reviews here. Unfortunately, I haven't had the same results as others. It doesn't seem very sharp to me and often breaks the tips off of the pencils. I'm using Dixon Ticonderoga pencils which should sharpen easily. I wouldn't buy this again.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Best for handheld, not quite as good as a electronic.
This by far the best handheld sharpener I have used. My one complaint is that the angle that is sharpens creates a shorter, "stubbier" point then a typical electric sharpener. This results in faster wearing of the tip. Its not that big of a deal though.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It met the "hype"
When I saw all the glowing reviews, I had to try it but going full circle to this type of sharpener didn't make sense to me. Certainly glad I did - a couple of twists and you have a sharp and very workable point. It sharpens at a more accute angle so the point isn't so fragile but yet very sharp. I use pencils allot in my woodshop and keep it in the pencil drawer. About three twists and I'm back in business. Saves more time than heading to the wall sharpener that gives a point on one end and ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - sharpener is sharp!
I am impressed with this item. It's small, yet sharpens pencils really well. Hoping it stays sharp through an entire year of kids using it all day long. I bought two - we'll see, but so far so good.
