- Occasionally skipsI got a cross pen as a gift and quickly needed refills.
When I try to write on certain kinds of paper, such as notepads from staples,
the pen occasionally skips and I have to rewrite certain things at least 10 times/page.
This gets irritating, and I was ready to give the item 1 star. But before doing so,
I googled "how to unstick a ball point pen" and ehow gave me a nice solution:
Tap the ballpoint of the pen on a hard surface. Now it is much better, but still

- Problems w/ ink drying prematurely and not flowing wellI have a Cross pen, and it USE to work great, when I originally bought it. However, ever since I got my first refill, it seems the pen would not flow quite as well after extensive use. I'd have to leave it alone for a while before it would start flowing well again. Don't know if it was the particular batch I got or what. I've opened one package and after this refill, I'll open another package. Hopefully, I just got a bad batch.

- Smooth as silk, never skips! The Cross black gel is one of the best inks I have ever used. It glides across the paper flawlessly and never skips or smears. I highly recommend this refill (though I cannot say the same for the blue version).

- SmoothSo smooth for writing. The tip isn't too fine or too fat. Good ink quality. Makes my Cross my go-to pen. All the rest are stuck in a drawer.

- Genuine Cross Pen RefillsI've tried other refills and found that fine point genuine Cross refills are by far the best. Medium points tend to leave trails and non-cross refills used tend to be too light and doesn't glide as easily. I have found Cross Classic pens my standard writing equipment and have half dozen in various bags and planners I own. I would not recommend cross 0.5mm mechanical pencils or new line of Cross pens made in China.
